About the blog

Hey! I’m Hannah and I’m happy you found your way here!

Byrnewithme follows my journey as I try to live in a way that is more sustainable and is kinder to our planet. I’m trying to make ethical choices and live an eco-conscious lifestyle, and I’m sharing my journey here on Byrnewithme. This includes ideas for reducing waste, going plastic free and making affordable ethical fashion choices.

I also share my life in Vancouver as I try to fit as much as possible into an 18 month period. You can find a list of all the things we’re trying to do while we’re in Canada here. I hope you’ll join me for the ride.

You can find out more about some of the things on the blog below.

Every choice we make has a direct impact on the environment, but we do have choices. We can choose to make an effort to live more sustainably, reduce, reuse, and recycle. This is not always easy and sometimes the odds are stacked against us, but by making one change at a time I really believe we can have an impact.

In sustainability I share my advice for living a more sustainable life. I am by no means perfect and you don’t have to be either. You just need to be willing to try to make a difference.

In travel, I share my guides to the places I’ve been around Ireland, Europe, America, and Canada, from road trips, to quick visit guides, to lists of the top things to do.

Everything else

Outside of that, you can find more general writing here, and all of the posts that don’t really fit into those other categories, like things about books and reading, gender issues and other blog posts.

Visiting coffee shops is one of my favourite ways to pass the time, and I like to share some of my favourite places on the blog.

About the author

I have lived in 4 different cities across Ireland, the US, and Canada. I’m currently based in Vancouver, BC, where I work remotely for a website based in Ireland. I love reading books and blogs, writing, drinking tea and staying in.

I am passionate about sustainability, which started when I bought my first KeepCup. It isn’t always easy, but I truly believe if we all make small changes in our lives one thing at a time, we can have a big impact on the environment.

I love talking to people on the blog – don’t hesitate to get the ball rolling!

For the time being, please contact me at while I get my official email back up and running, or fill out the contact form. Come and chat!
